A Rekindled Interest!!!

Well, hey!!! It's time for my sixth-month update!!! Wow...

So, I got a new 35mm DSLR about a year ago... and almost 365 days later, my interest in photography has been rekindled. I've been turned on to HDR photography. So the above image is an HDR, 2-picture Panoramic of Alta Ski Resort and Little Cottonwood Canyon at sunset. I took it about a week ago. I really like the way it turned out. I'm quite pleased with myself and am excited to see what more my camera can do... oh, here's another HDR...

That picture is Legacy Bridge... located on the campus of the University of Utah... built for the Olympics back in 2002. Granted, this forum isn't going to reveal the full detail of the HDR. I can't upload high-res photos. Don't want it to slow down your viewing/reading pleasure... or people to steal the pic!!!

What else is new? Not a whole lot. Premmy, the sneaky, little bugger of a Vizsla that I have, is doing well. He's 1 1/2-years old now and doing very well. His little buddy, Stewie the Cat, keeps him preoccupied and his schedule busy.

Other than that, I've been working a lot. Keepin' busy... payin' the bills... yadda, yadda, yadda...

Hope all is well for those reading this.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

My top 10...

For some reason, I've decided to list my top-10 favorite albums:

1. Led Zeppelin - III
2. U2 - Rattle and Hum
3. Radiohead - Ok Computer
4. Pearl Jam - Ten
5. They Might Giants - Flood
6. Weezer - Weezer (Blue)
7. The Beatles - Love
8. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
9. Snow Patrol - Songs for Polar Bears
10. Depeche Mode - Violator

Of course, my selections are up for debate!!

Ooops... and that's why pencils have erasers!!

I'm keeping this entry brief because I don't wanna talk about it. I got into a car wreck about a month ago!!

It was nothing serious. I was at a stop light... wasn't paying attention... popped the clutch and my car went into a truck. Actually, it went under the truck. No damage to the guy's truck. But, there was an impressive $7,400 damage to the ol' 2003 Subaru Outback.

The insurance company did fix it and I basically got a new engine, new wheel fenders, new bumper and lights. Oh, and a new windshield. The car runs great. I couldn't be happier with it.

That's all I want to say about it. Oh, one last thing. My rental was a Saturn Ion. Safe to say, I'm never going to own one of those POS's.

All is well. My doggy , Premmy, got bitten at the dog park yesterday (June 13). Damn dog was one of those Borzoi pieces of crap. Called the hosp because it was fairly deep. But, it wasn't bleeding. I told them I put some neosporin on it. They said it should be okay but to monitor it for swelling or anything like that. This whole experience upsets for me two reasons. Why do you bring a dog to a social setting when it has potential to bite other dogs? And, the other reason... I don't want my dog to turn defensive because of bad experiences. I work very hard to make sure my dog is happy and treated well. And it only takes this Borzoi POS dog one second to ruin it!!

Okay... I'm done. Happy birthday to my blog. It's a year old now!!

Oh, bloody hell....

I couldn't think of a good title for this post, so, when it doubt - swear!!

Anyhoo... not much going on out here. I got chased down by some Mormon Missionaries on Sunday. They were on their bikes and we (my dog and I) were heading in opposite directions... about to cross paths. So, I vere off to aviod them when one of the them speeds up and chases me down on his Huffy Bike, undoubtedly a K-MART Blue Light Special. Here's the exchange:

Missionary: Hi, how are you.
Me: Fine
Missionary: We're out spreding the word ....
Me: I'm not interested.
Missionary: But, are you familiar with our message?
Me: I know enough
Missionary: Do you know anyone....
Me: I sure don't

Why do these retards think that chasing me down on their bike is going to make me join their cult? These people need to learn the "Catch more flies with honey" axiom!!

That was exciting fun!! So, I wrecked my car about three weeks ago. Did a good job too. I popped my clutch at a stop light... but apparently, the light was still red. I often say, if more people drove like me there'd be less accidents. But, alas, here I was. I had a smashed up Subaru and the guy in front of me... a 4x4 with a two- or three-inch lift, had a miniscule dent on his bumper. So, $7,500 later, I have a new engine, new front fenders, new hood, new front bumper and a new grill. Only $1,000 shy of totalling my ride!!

I can't complain. It's basically a new car and it runs very well!!

My dog, which if you read my previous posts, you may think I'm a bit obsessive about, is doing well. He's almost a year old, now, and is starting to learn his way. He has developed this habit of snipping at me when he's tired. But, I do it too... so can I really be mad at him. The answer is, "Yes, I can!" I had a pigeon with a broken wing take refuge on my porch for the Memorial Day weekend. That was a bad idea as that was a cool new toy for Premmy (a bird dog, mind you) to bat around. Needless to say, I put an end to that quickly. I don't need my dog cavorting around with the rat of the avian world!!

My girlfriend is doing well. She should be out of the hospital on Thursday. Two years and about four rounds of cancer treatment later.... she as good as new. She deserves a round of applause. Okay, that's enough.

Back From the Dead

Hello, oh patient world. It's been forever and a day since I updated my blog. I remember when I announced to friends and family that I started a blog... my sister's remark was something to the effect, "Yeah, we'll see how long this lasts before it falls by the wayside."

Well, I was religiously posting three times per week... then once a week... then a couple times per month... and then poof.... I dissapeared.

But, HEY!!! I'm baaaaaaaaaack!!!

Above you should see the newest picture I have of my little pup, Premysl... or Premmy. While he's the epitome of puppy mischeviousness (or Premchevious, as my girlfriend Amy likes to call him), he's, on the whole, a good dog. He finished puppy preschool with the thought that EVERY dog and person is there for his playing enjoyment. We have since gradumated to basic dog obedience class... and that's less about playing and more about learning. It's not as much fun for him at all!! Once he finishes this... the question is... do we go to advanced obedience, acting or agility classes... or do we just let ol' Premmy be a run-of-the mill dog...

Premmy is a newly-crowned "it". He had his first surgery last week to emasculate his male essence. Poor guy. One of my co-workers is pissed that Premmy didn't get to "shoot his bullets." He says that I, "took his bullets and threw them away before he got to fire any of them!" So sad. He also got a micro chip inserted in his scruff... so he can be ID'd if he runs away!! But, that won't happen. He likes me too much, right?

What esle is new.... not a whole lot. I had a good x-mas... am anxious that my girlfriend Amy is about to get out of the hospital... free and clear of that pesky cancer!! Nice work, sweetie!

Thanks to all who sign my comment list... I enjoy reading them... and hopefully, you enjoy reading the mundane occurances that is my life!! =)
