I was culling through the newspaper (the online version… sorry, that’s not helping my fellow journalists at all. But, how can I NOT use the online version when it’s sooooo easy to access.) the other day, and read one of the burgeoning stories on the North Korea situation I came across an interesting quote from a North Korean agency. As a PR professional, I have problem with this. First the quote:
"Now that the South Korean puppets were so ridiculous as to join in the said racket and dare declare a war against compatriots," North Korea is "compelled to take a decisive measure," the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement carried by state media.”
Okay. How can an agency that contains the phrase “peaceful reunification” in its name voice such a belligerent view?! Perhaps this entity should re-visit the whole name thing and change it to something like, “Ripe Bastards with Nukes,” or “Ready, Fire, Aim!” I dunno. I think those two names describe this institutions function much better than its original name. I mean, when I go into a place named “Burger King,” I’m not expecting to see chicken strips on the menu…. Oops. Nevermind.
I’m still hitting the photography hobby pretty hard, and per my usual post, I have posted two of my favorites from the last outing. My friend and I went and shot a local mountain biking race on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail in Draper, Utah. It was a great experience. Although, it was our first such race and we shot all the amateur races… not realizing that the pro races were at the end. Oops (again). Oh well.
I hope everyone has a spectacular weekend, and we’ll catch you on the flipside. Below are two of my favorite photos from last week’s shoot:
